Knowing your knots

The synch knot: used mainly to secure a lure or hook to your line or leader

This is an easy knot to tie:
1.) Pass the line through the eye of the hook or lure
2.)wrap this line (tag end) around the main line above the eye 5 times
3.)pass the tag end through the loop just above the eye
4.)then pass it through the loop created during step 3
5.) wet your line in the area around the knot
6.) pull the tag end and the main line while holding the hook or bait and the knot should synch down to the top of the eye.
7.) cut tag end tight to the knot

This is a very simple knot to tie and is strong enough for most fishing situations.

The Pulmar Knot: Used mainly to secure a lure or hook to your line or leader

This also is an easy knot which is stronger than the synch knot. You will also need to learn how to tie this knot to drop-shot fish. This is a technique that will be shown during your Beyond Bait and Bobber membership.

1.) Pass the line through the eye of your bait or hook twice, creating a tag end on the same side as your main line and a loop on the other side of the eye of the hook or lure
2.) tie a square knot using the loop created in step one (Making sure to leave the loop long enough to be able to pass the hook or lure through)
3.) pass the hook or lure through the loop
4.) wet your line in the area around the knot
5.)pull both the main line and the tag end while holding the lure or hook until the knot tightens down to the top of the eye
6.) Cut the tag end tight to the knot

These are two very simple basic knots I use while fishing. During your experience with Beyond Bait and Bobber I will try to share things that make my fishing experience a little easier and more fun. Please share your shortcuts or ideas with other members through this service and see what you can learn from fellow members. Tight Lines, Mike
